Nymphing is a tough skill to master in fly fishing. The fly is underwater so its often impossible to see the fish take in your fly.  You need to keep your fly underwater, drifting with the natural current, but also maintain line tautness to ensure you’ll be able to feel a nibble and set the hook when the time is right.  Learning how to fly fish with nymphs is a great skills and can pay off mightily when fish aren’t quite as active or are at deeper depths.
